Sword of the Futsunomitama

布都御魂（ふつのみたま）

磐余彦（イワレビコ）は息子の手研耳命（タギシミミノミコト）と共に軍を率いた。
磐余彦軍は進軍し熊野の荒坂の港に着いた。
磐余彦軍は荒坂で丹敷戸畔（タシキトベ（女の賊））を殲滅した。
この時、国津神（もとからいた神）が毒気を吐き、人々は萎えた。
毒気の為、磐余彦軍は成果が上がらなかった。
磐余彦軍はみな病気になってしまった。

熊野に高倉下という人が住んでいた。
高倉下の夢の中で天照と武甕槌（タケミカヅチ）が語っていた。
天照が言った。
「葦原中国がまた乱れて騒がしい。
武甕槌が行き、平定しなさい。」
武甕槌が答えた。
「私が行かなくても私が国を平定した剣を送りましょう。
剣を送れば国は平定するでしょう。」
天照が言った。
「そのとおり。」
武甕槌は高倉下に語った。
「私の剣の名は布都御魂（ふつのみたま）。
今あなたの蔵の中に置く。
布都御魂を磐余彦に渡しなさい。」
高倉下は言った。
「私は承知した。」
高倉下は武甕槌に言った後、目が覚めた。
翌朝、高倉下は夢のお告げに従った。
高倉下は蔵の中を開けた。
蔵の床板に一本の剣が刺さっていた。
剣の傍らに豪華な装飾を施された鞘が落ちていた。
高倉下はそれを取り、磐余彦に届けた。
その時、磐余彦は熟睡していた。
しかし磐余彦は剣が届いた時急に目覚めた。
磐余彦は言った。
「私はどうしてこんなに長い時間眠っていたのだろう。」
毒気にあたっていた兵士たちも目が覚めた。
