老人と老婆は泣いている理由をスサノオに話した。
以前老人と老婆には８人の子どもがいた。
８人の子どもはみんな可愛らしい少女だった。
しかし、その少女たちは居なくなってしまった。
今年はクシナダヒメが居なくなる。
クシナダヒメが居なくなることは変えられない。
私たちはそれが悲しく泣いているのです。

スサノオは聞いた。
何故クシナダヒメが居なくなる？
何故八人の少女が居なくなった？

老人と老婆が答えた。
毎年ヤマタノオロチに飲み込まれたからです。
今年はクシナダヒメがヤマタノオロチにのまれます。
私たちに逃れる方法がありません。
