12月4日。
磐余彦（イワレビコ）軍は長髄彦（ナガスネヒコ）を討伐する事になった。
磐余彦軍は長髄彦軍と何度も戦いをしてきた。
しかし磐余彦軍はなかなか勝てなかった。
磐余彦軍が長髄彦軍と対峙している時、急に空が曇って暗くなった。
そして雹が降ってきた。
その時一羽の鵄（とび）が飛んできた。
その鵄は不思議な事に金色に輝いていた。
金色の鵄は磐余彦の弓の先にとまった。
鵄は光り輝いていた。
その様子は雷光の様だった。
その様子を見ていた長髄彦軍は皆眩惑した。
その為長髄彦軍は力が出せなかった。
長髄彦の長髄は元々邑の名前だった。
その邑の実力者が長髄彦を名乗った。
磐余彦軍が鵄の吉兆を得たので、その時の人はその土地を鵄の邑と呼んだ。
今鳥見（トミ）と呼ぶのはなまったからです。
昔、孔舍衞（クサエ）の戦いで五瀬（イツセ）が矢に当たって死んだ。
この戦いで、磐余彦は五瀬の仇を取りたかった。
そして磐余彦は詠んだ。

ミツミツシ、クメノコラガ、カキモトニ、アハフニハ、カミラヒトモト、ソノガモト、ソネメツナギテ、ウチテシヤマム。

意味。

たくさんの来目部（クメラ）の軍勢よ、垣の根元に粟が生えている。その中にニラが一本生えている。ニラの根元から芽までを繋いで抜こう。
敵もニラの様に一掃しよう。

磐余彦はまた詠んだ。

ミツミツシ、クメノコラガ、カキモトニ、ウエシハジカミ、クチビヒク、ワレハワスレズ、ウチテシヤマム。

意味。

たくさんの来目部の軍勢よ。垣の根元に植えた山椒。口に入れると辛く痛い。敵の攻撃の様だ。私は忘れていない。敵を一掃しよう。
