日本武は尾張に帰って来た。
日本武は宮簀媛（ミヤスヒメ）を妾にした。

日本武は長い間、尾張に滞在した。
日本武は近江の伊吹山に暴力的な神がいる事を聞いた。
日本武は草薙の剣を外し、剣を宮簀媛の家に置いた。

日本武が伊吹山に到着すると、山の神は大蛇に変化し、日本武の行く手を塞いだ。

この時、山の神は雲を作り雹を降らせた。
霧が山を覆い、谷は暗く、道が塞がれた。

日本武は行くべき道が判らなかった。

ヲワリニ、タダニムカエル、ヒトツマツアハレ、ヒトツマツ、ヒトニアリセバ、キヌキセマシヲ、タチハケマシヲ。

意味：尾張に、まっすぐ向いている、一本の松がある、一本の松、人であったなら、衣を着せて、太刀を付けさせるよ。
